The Journal of Ecumenical Studies,
an academic journal that focuses on vitally important
religious issues, offers a venue for meaningful publication, and consistently
maintains the caliber of exemplary scholarship, intellectual inquisitiveness,
and over-all excellence. With its outreach arm, the Institute for Intercultural,
Interreligious Dialogue (IIID), the JES is at the dynamic center of a multi-faceted campaign

The Journal

The following explanation appeared in Vol. 42.1 (Winter 2007):
THE GORDIAN KNOT
For reasons too complicated to detail, J.E.S. has fallen behind in the dates of its publication; that is, starting a number of years ago, we did not get out a Winter issue in the Winter of that year, and so on. Then, despite serious efforts to catch up, along with anticipated technological and staff changes, it appeared to the Editors that the best way to bring the appearance of J.E.S. issues in line with the season and year was simply to continue the volume and number of the issues as they appear, while making the year synchronize with the current year. We have cut the Gordian Knot, so the current issue is Volume 42, Number 1, and is dated Winter, 2007. Hence, there will be no issues dated 2005 or 2006, but the volumes will follow in order.
